A Respected Membership
With 8,000+ members or 4,439 families, CCV is one of the largest member-owned private clubs in the U.S.
The average age of members is 55, and most new elections are in their mid-to-late 40s. CCV has 1,391 members between the ages of 8 and 21, 671 non-resident members, and 456 members aged 80 or older who have been members for 45 years or more.

Nomination Process
The membership nomination process demands the dedication of the nominee, including connectivity to the current membership. In this time-honored process, CCV’s Board of Directors meets individually with each nominee, and the general membership is invited to provide crucial feedback about candidates before their election.
This feedback ultimately requires that each nominee has formal, written support from a minimum of fifteen current members.

Waiting List
Increased interest from the community persists, with over 170 nominations currently submitted for membership consideration.
The timeframe that a nominee may spend on the waitlist is determined by the Board, with a current estimation of over four years before a potential election.

The number of CCV members continues to reach all time highs, and attrition continues to experience historic lows. When compared to the typical 5-8% average attrition in the industry, The Country Club of Virginia has averaged 2.4% over the last four years.

Legacy Program
CCV’s Membership Committee and staff are committed to identifying ways to engage legacy members and solidify their desire to remain a part of the Club community into adulthood.
A popular program for legacy members was enhanced in 2014,
which encourages the commitment to an adult membership at an earlier age through age-based pricing. Since its enhancement,
1,030 legacy members have joined the Club.
