Excellence in Amenities
and Facilities
Much of CCV’s ability to maintain relevance and value proposition over time is the product of
forward-looking investments in facilities and a commitment to providing a broad range of programs.
CCV is consistently looking 5-10 years out to identify trends in the private club world and
changes in what members expect from their clubs.
Keeping Pace

It’s an exciting time at The Country Club of Virginia as the Club embarks on one of the biggest capital investments in CCV history. Three significant capital projects have already started or will get underway in less than one year, all a part of the Club’s master plan that touches on many aspects of the member experience.
A Capital Projects Microsite, “From the Ground Up” was launched to keep members up-to-date on all of the projects and their progress.
Of particular note, new capital projects at CCV are funded through cash flow from initiation fees while depreciation funded through our operating budget are used for annual capital replacements. The Club has never assessed its members in its 117-year history.

RENOVATION
James River Clubhouse
(Opening September 2025)
The James River Clubhouse is one of CCV’s few facilities that has not suffered chronic access compression, and is considered to be one of the Club’s most underutilized assets.
It provides a glaring opportunity to answer the call from members to provide a more casual setting for a post-golf cocktail and informal dining for members of all generations. The approved design reimagines dining and social spaces in the clubhouse with expanded hours of operation, including a new mixed grill, bar, and private dining room.
It also involves expansion of the Men’s Locker Room to uphold traditions of socializing and card play.

RENOVATION
Tuckahoe Creek Golf Course
(Begins October 2025)
Improving the Club’s Tuckahoe Creek Course provides a unique opportunity to create a preferred golfing experience and to more evenly distribute golf play between our two courses on the James River Campus.
The Tuckahoe Creek Course is more than 35 years old, and many of its features – tees, greens, and bunkers – have reached the end of their useful lives and require replacement. Simultaneously, aspects of the course will be redesigned. The new design will enhance the qualities of the course and make it more fun for all levels of golfers to play, while addressing ongoing challenges in course condition, design, and strategy.

RACQUET SPORTS, PARKING, INFRASTRUCTURE
Westhampton Campus
(Phased Approach, Begins November 2025)
The centerpiece of this plan is a second Racquet Sports facility on CCV’s Westhampton Campus with indoor and outdoor pickleball courts plus relocated platform tennis courts. The new courts will be complemented by the expansion of The Westhampton Golf Shop to allow for changing rooms as well as a snack bar and social space, much like the Golf Performance Center. The addition of Padel, the world’s fastest-growing racquet sport, will also be evaluated.
The additions are in response to growing member interest in a variety of racquet sports and to relieve pressure on the Club’s tennis facilities. The plan also provides additional parking both on Caddie Hill and in the Main Parking Lot to meet current demand, as well as increased usage expected to result from the improvements.
The first phase of work on the Westhampton Campus is perhaps the most urgently needed but least glamorous—redesign and enhancements to improve safety, parking, and the pedestrian pathways at our Westhampton Campus. While the addition of 80+ parking spaces is a central feature of this project, important aspects of the design include improvements to safety: clear sight lines, expanded sidewalks, and more logical traffic flow.
